University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program
Welcome - A Letter from Our Program Director, Sybil Marsh, MD
Thank you for your interest in University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program. We are a three year residency program. Our residency program is the affiliate of Case Western Reserve University Department of Family Medicine. We are located in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio adjacent to the Case Western Reserve University campus in the University Circle area and near Cleveland's major cultural institutions.
Our mission is to provide you with the training, resources and experience to become leaders in the field of Family Medicine. We approach training with an emphasis on excellence in patient care, encouraging our residents to think critically, to make sound medical decisions, maintain advanced procedural skills, and to work in a professional environment that promotes life-long learning.
Our department also boasts one of the most productive and varied Family Medicine research divisions nationally. We serve as the editorial home of the country's premier academic Family Medicine journal, the Annals of Family Medicine. A vibrant research infrastructure has helped interested residents develop and publish their projects.
During the three years of training, our residents will evolve progressively with increasing knowledge and responsibility to all aspects of Family Medicine. Our residents participate in a variety of programs for continued growth. Multiple didactic opportunities are incorporated into the curriculum to enhance resident development and training. Continued opportunities in career development is fostered with exposure to academic and community resources, allowing the resident to gain the tools to understand the steps involved in advancing their careers. Additionally, there is a one year fellowship opportunity available in the department to expand our resident's exposure to Preventive Medicine.
We are pleased to offer this program for applicants interested in becoming leaders in Family Medicine, and we look forward to working closely with our residents to train them to become the future of family medicine who will provide the highest-quality clinical care.
We look forward to meeting you during your interview trail as you embark on your pursuit of Family Medicine. You will find University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program to be a place where you can achieve excellence as a family physician.
