Temporal Bone Course

Principles of temporal bone anatomy and surgical skills are developed in our state-of-the-art Temporal Bone Surgical Anatomy Laboratory. Ten stations with individual microscopes and drills are available to residents year-round.

An intense course is given each year for ten weeks during which each resident dissects several temporal bones with careful supervision from Otology faculty. At the end of each course, each resident submits a temporal bone for competition, with feedback and teaching on surgical technique and exposure of critical structures.
