Summary

In the roles of faculty mentor, student advisor and clinician educator, Dr. Stager has been dedicated to the education of residents and medical students for many years.  She has been a preceptor for the physical diagnosis course, the Medical Apprentice Program, and the RAMP program. She helped to shape the development of the new clinical curriculum as the Block 2 design team leader for MetroHealth.  She was trained in clinical competencies at the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a co-leader of faculty development course aimed at improving direct observation and feedback skills.   In the community, Dr. Stager has been involved with a variety of educational activities.  She is past President of the Cleveland Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, an organization directly credited with providing over 70 suicide prevention educational forums.  Dr. Stager was awarded a Child and Health Services Grant 2 years in a row to educate community-based pediatricians about adolescent reproductive health issues.  Dr. Stager has been an advocate for our area’s youth to secure tobacco settlement monies towards the establishment of the Ohio Tobacco Use and Prevention Foundation.  Currently she is President of the Women Faculty of the School of Medicine (2005-2007); an organization whose mission is to improve the overall status of women faculty in areas of salary equity, mentoring, career advancements, and leadership opportunities.
