 Message from the WFSOM President:
I am honored to serve as your President of the Women Faculty School of Medicine (WFSOM), an organization supporting the careers of women in medicine for over 30 years. My goals are to continue to uphold the WFSOM time-honored tradition of promotion and retention of women in academic medicine via leading seminars and activities that disseminate information crucial for women's career and professional development. My mission also involves diversifying our steering committee and membership such that voices of women across disciplines, institutions and career trajectories may be heard. I also take seriously our responsibility to guide and mentor women in training, and my plans include coordinating activities that foster dialogue amongst women faculty with students, residents and fellows. Dr. Mehra completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Loyola University Medical Center as well as a Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and a Research Fellowship in Sleep Medicine Neurobiology and Epidemiology at University Hospital of Cleveland where she obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Currently Dr. Mehra is the Director of the Adult Sleep Laboratory and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
