Esa M. Davis , MD, MPH
Esa M. Davis, M.D., M.P.H. is an assistant professor in the Department of
Family Medicine Research Division and a former R25 Fellow in the Case
Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Davis’s current research investigates
the role of stress, insulin resistance, and childbearing on the later life
development of obesity and diabetes in women. She is particularly interested
in understanding mechanisms for the racial and socioeconomic disparity
in obesity occurring among women. To support her line of inquiry, she
has recently been awarded a Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development
Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Davis maintains a
clinical practice at the University Hospitals of Cleveland Family Medicine
Health Center. Additionally, she is involved in medical student and resident
education. Dr. Davis went to UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark,
NJ, and completed her research training as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical
Scholar at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
She received her Master’s of Public Health Degree from the Johns Hopkins
University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is board-certified as a
diplomat from the American Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Davis belongs to
several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family
Physicians, the National Medical Association, the North American Primary
Care Research Group and the North American Association for the Study of
Obesity.
