ABOUT US
Office of Urban Health

The Office of Urban Health (OUH) is funded by the Saint Luke's Foundation of Cleveland. Working with the Urban Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the OUH enhances health services, medical education, and health promotion/disease prevention in urban Cleveland through university and community partnerships. By facilitating student, community, and faculty involvement, the OUH fosters programs and initiatives that focus on improving the health of the underserved.
Urban Area Health Education Center
The Urban AHEC at Case, part of a statewide consortium, offers community-based education for health professions students and access to health information for the public. Working with the OUH, the Urban AHEC provides opportunities for students to contribute to the health and well-being of community residents in underserved areas while gaining important skills to become effective and compassionate providers. The Urban AHEC supports medicine, nursing, dentistry, public health and undergraduate students' participation in activities such as health promotion, health screening, policy initiatives, and program development. In addition, the Urban AHEC directly promotes health careers, provides and facilitates community education programs, and contributes to continuing education for providers.
OUH-AHEC Mission Statement
To connect the resources of Case with the health needs of the community
and to enrich the Case environment through community partnerships.
