Office of Financial Aid

Room T303

More information

The Office of Financial Aid assists students in obtaining loans, grants and scholarships from various federal, private and school sources. Wanda L. Rollins, MNO, the Financial Aid Director, works closely with students and their families to decide the financial plan for their medical education. They are committed to promoting students access to the funds for which they qualify. Financial need, the principal consideration in determining how much total aid an individual receives, is determined by a national needs analysis service. Students must complete the School of Medicine financial aid application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the Need Access online application.

The Dean’s and Satcher-Pamies Scholarships are merit scholarships available to incoming students based upon outstanding academic and personal achievement. Application for this scholarship is by invitation of the Admissions Committee only.

Throughout their education, students who are on financial aid must maintain contact with the Office of Financial Aid and to keep the Office informed of any changes in their financial situation, and to finalize the details of their financial aid processing. Individual debt management and credit counseling sessions are provided to students. An exit interview session that summarizes total borrowing and repayment plans takes place prior to graduation.
