CME AGENDA - April 9, 1998
Summary of 4-9-98 CME Minutes1. Fourth year student Leah Wolfe presented the Alpha Omega Alpha Position paper from the class of 1998. AOA members are making a concerted effort to "bring" the paper to the various medical school constituents and encourage discussion of it. Ms. Wolfe highlighted the issues. Discussants endorsed the Office of Student Affairs' involvement in obtaining a complete, up-to-date collection of review books and textbooks for the students to use. Concern about decreased diversity in the student body - ethnicity, age, and varying professional and educational backgrounds - was discussed. Because class composition is an important factor influencing the learning environment, a motion was made that the CME should endorse a commitment to the preservation of a diverse student body as an important element of the educational environment. No vote was taken, but the motion was declared an "acclamation by implication" by the CME chair. 2. Millennium Curriculum Project Update
