Summary of 2-11-99 CME Minutes1. CME ex officio member Ms. Virginia "Ginger" Saha has been named Director of the Cleveland Health Sciences Library. The library will acquire Ovid Technologies web trials on evidence-based medicine databases, which include the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and the Core Biomedical Collection (the collection of electronic journals). The library is also looking to acquire MD Consult. For further information regarding current evaluation of these databases, contact Ms. Saha at vmg2@po.cwru.edu. 2. Dr. LaManna called attention to two journal articles from Academic Medicine: 1) "Learning Objectives for Medical Student EducationGuidelines for Medical Schools: Report I of the Medical School Objectives Project," and 2) "Program Directors Responses to a Survey on Variables Used to Select Residents in a Time of Change." Dr. LaManna would like to encourage a more informed discussion about various issues relating to curricular objectives and is providing resource material.
