CHOOSE OHIO FIRST SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Choose Ohio First Engaged Scholarship Program in Bioscience and Healthcare

In July 2008, Case Western Reserve University was a member of the Choose Ohio First Engaged Scholarship Program in Bioscience and Healthcare that was awarded 2 million dollars by the State of Ohio as part of the states' Choose Ohio First Scholarship program. Other participants in the program include: Cleveland State University, Baldwin-Wallace, Cuyahoga Community College, Hiram College, The Cleveland Clinic, BioEnterprise, and JumpStart.


Eligibility

The Choose Ohio First Engaged Scholarship Program in Bioscience and Healthcare is eligible to the following Case Western Reserve University students who have Ohio residency:

  • Undergraduate students majoring in Systems Biology or Biomedical Engineering, and Pre-Professional Scholars- Medicine Students.
  • Graduate students enrolled in the STEP- Biotechnology or Public Health Nutrition Masters degree programs.

Scholarship Retention

Scholarship recipients are subject to the following scholarship retention criteria that will be reviewed on an annual basis. Scholarship recipients must:

  • Enroll as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours)
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.2
  • Demonstrate participation in the program's required experiences.
  • Participate in the Choose Ohio First Engaged Scholarship Program in Bioscience and Healthcare's educational, social, and mentoring activities each semester.

Application Process
