Directions to the NSLS

Brookhaven National Laboratory is located on William Floyd Parkway (County Road 46), 1.5 miles north of exit 68 of the Long Island Expressway (LIE, Rte. 495). (See detailed directions below.)

UPON ARRIVING AT THE BNL MAIN ENTRANCE:

A guard is always on duty at the main entrance to the Laboratory. In order to enter the main gate, you must have a current BNL Photo ID or valid BNL car sticker.  If you have neither, give the guard the name, building, and telephone extension of the person expecting you. This should be a co-worker already at the NSLS, or the Local Contact of the beamline on which you are scheduled.  Once you pass through the main gate, turn left (north) at the first traffic light.  Then, turn right (east) at the next traffic light.   Proceed straight through the first stop sign.  (The Housing Office will be on your right.)  The NSLS is the white building on your left about 3 blocks from the stop sign.  The parking lot for the NSLS main entrance is on your right.  There is a telephone inside the main lobby of the NSLS.  Just dial the last four digits of the phone number for your local contact.
