Christine T. Barry, PhD, is a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She also is a consultant to the Bellefaire Monarch Center for Autism, Shaker Heights, Ohio, and to Veggie-U, a nonprofit organization at the Culinary Vegetable Institute based in Milan, Ohio that is developing an Earth-to-Table Science Curriculum for children with autism spectrum disorders. She is Associate Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Barry is a licensed psychologist. Her special interests include Asperger’s syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, brain injury, neuropsychological/learning evaluations and pediatric brain disease.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio. She completed her education with a doctorate in school psychology from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. She served a clinical fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and was appointed to the staff in 1993.

Her research interest is the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. She is a member of the International Center for Autism Research Working Group, which supports autism research at UH, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center and affiliated community resources.

Dr. Barry has contributed papers and abstracts to neuropsychology and pediatric journals and made numerous presentations on autism, Asperger’s and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder to local, regional and national professional audiences. She also speaks frequently to parent, school and community groups about children with autism.

She is a member of the Autism Society of America; Autism Society of Ohio, Cuyahoga County and Lorain County Chapters; International Neuropsychological Society; National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the Ohio Psychological Association.
