Sarah Romero, MD, is a pediatric emergency medicine specialist in the Division of Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Romero is board certified in pediatrics and certified in advanced trauma life support, pediatric advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation. Her special interest is pediatric emergency medicine, and she was named to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2013.
Dr. Romero received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry summa cum laude from The University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa., and her doctorate in medicine from The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She served her residency in pediatrics followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

She is a frequent speaker on pediatric emergencies and their treatment to local emergency medical services (EMS) groups as well residents and fellows. Dr. Romero currently is participating in a study of the effectiveness of referrals to pediatric weight loss programs from the emergency department.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
