Anne Lyren, M.D., M.Sc. is Co-Clinical Director of the Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) National Children’s Network, an effort to eliminate serious harm in children's hospitals across the country. She is a pediatrician at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital where she also currently serves as Strategic Advisor of the Quality & Safety Program. Dr. Lyren received her Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard University and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy as a Rotary Scholar at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She then completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, her residency and chief residency at Rainbow, and subsequently served in a number of additional roles there including Director of the Rainbow Center for Pediatric Ethics, Medical Director of Quality, Vice Chair of Quality & Ethics, and Interim Co-Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. In 2010, she completed the IHI Improvement Advisor Course. Subsequently, she acted as co-leader of the Ohio Children's Hospitals' Solutions for Patient Safety and led a number of successful initiatives to eliminate serious harm in Ohio. Since 2011, she has served as Co-Clinical Director of the SPS National Network and also assisted in the development of children's hospitals' quality and safety programs as an independent consultant.
