Bio

Veerajalandhar Allareddy, MD, MBA, FAAP, FACP, is Director of the virtual Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the Department of Pediatric Critical Care at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. His special interest is in cardiac critical care of infants and children.

 

Dr. Allareddy earned degrees in medicine and surgery from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, India. He completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, followed by concurrent fellowships in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at UH Case Medical Center and pediatric pharmacology and critical care at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Dr. Allareddy also holds a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo. He joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2011.

A dedicated researcher with a special interest in health outcomes, Dr. Allareddy currently is an investigator or co-investigator on more than a dozen clinical trials related to treating viral and bacterial infections in infants and children. He has earned research awards from the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He has presented his research with professional acclaim e at national meetings such as American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Heart Association, and those organizations have published his work for release to the media. Dr. Allareddy has published more than 80 manuscripts and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics. His other professional memberships include the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Medical Council of India. He is an elected member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.
