Dr.Sankararaman is a pediatric gastroenterologist at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. He is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr.Sankararaman is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He is also board certified in clinical nutrition from the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.® His clinical interests includes nutritional medicine, obesity, feeding difficulties, food allergies, enteral and parenteral nutrition, short bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), cystic fibrosis, and abdominal pain.

He graduated from The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai, India and completed a pediatric residency training from Madurai Medical College, India. He worked in the National Health Services, England and became a member of The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). Later he completed a residency in pediatrics at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center. He also worked as clinical instructor in Pediatrics at LSU and treated children with both acute and complex health needs. He completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in the UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. He won numerous awards during both residency and fellowship trainings. He also finished an advanced clinical nutrition fellowship sponsored by the Nestle Nutrition Institute.

Dr.Sankararaman has authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and has written textbook chapters. He has presented in various national and international meetings.
