Alyssa Stachowiak is a pediatric hospitalist in the Division of Neonatology and Perinatal Medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics.

Dr. Stachowiak's academic interests include breastfeeding, both clinical breastfeeding medicine as well as promoting physician education surrounding breastfeeding. She has completed the clinical hours and coursework toward her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification and will sit for the IBCLC exam in October 2018. She is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, an international physician group dedicated to the promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding.

Dr. Stachowiak completed her undergraduate work at Barnard College, Columbia University in New York, NY, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY and served her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Stachowiak is an accomplished vocalist who has sung in both volunteer and professional ensembles from her childhood. Most recently, she has sung with Case Western Reserve's Early Music Singers as well as several other local ensembles focusing on early music.
