Katherine Kutney MD is a pediatric endocrinologist in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

She is board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric endocrinology. She has a special interest in cystic fibrosis related diabetes. Dr. Kutney was named to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital medical staff in August 2018.

Dr. Kutney graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University, Kent, OH, and went on to medical school at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, OH, where she graduated with honors on 2011. Dr. Kutney is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed an internship in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, WI and residency in pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, OH. She completed a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, OH.

Dr. Kutney’s research interests include cystic fibrosis related diabetes and cystic fibrosis associated liver disease. She is interested in mechanisms of disordered growth and glucose metabolism in patients with cystic fibrosis and the impact of Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Regulator (CFTR) modulators on metabolic disease in cystic fibrosis. She has presented at multiple national meetings.

She is a member of the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, and Pediatric Endocrine Society.
