Andrea Trembath, MD, MPH, FAAP, is a neonatologist (newborn medicine specialist) in the Division of Neonatology and Perinatal Medicine, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. She is Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Trembath is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and certified in neonatal resuscitation. Her special interest is neonatal medicine. She joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital staff in 2012.

Dr. Trembath earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Mich., and her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Mich. She served a medicine and pediatrics residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Mich., and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, N.C. During her fellowship she also earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health.

Dr. Trembath’s research focuses on the effectiveness of healthcare delivery and quality issues related to the care of infants and children. She currently is Co-Principal Investigator on a study sponsored by the Ohio Department of Medicaid examining regional variations across the state in readmission rates for babies in their first year of life. She also is the site Principal Investigator for a National Institutes of Health study on the use of antibiotics in infants with abdominal infections.

She has presented research abstracts at American Academy of Pediatrics meetings and other medical conferences and authored or coauthored half-a-dozen papers in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Trembath is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Society for Epidemiologic Research.
