Amy Edwards, MD, is a physician in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology and a hospitalist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital . She also is a staff physician at St. John Medical Center Rainbow Rapid Care, Westlake, Ohio, and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Edwards is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She has a special interest in pediatric infectious diseases, and she joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital staff in 2013

She earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga., and a doctorate in medicine from Ben Gurion University of the Negev Medical School for International Health, Beer Sheva, Israel. Dr. Edwards completed her residency in pediatrics at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. As a fellow she traveled on medical missions trips to underserved people in Ethiopia and Bolivia.

Dr. Edwards currently is co-investigator on a study of Rift Valley Fever virus in Africa and the Arabian peninsula with the Case Western Reserve University Center for Global Health and a UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital study on the risk of renal failure in children treated with vancomycin.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases Society of America and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
