Overview
The Flow Cytometry Core provides a resource for analytical and preparative studies of cells using flow cytometry. Analytical instruments include 2 BD FACScans available for 3-color analysis and a BD LSR I for up to 6-color analysis, equipped with 3 lasers, including an argon cooled UV laser that can be used to perform Ca flux studies in cell populations. For cell sorting the core currently uses a BD FACSVantage with 3 lasers and 5-color analytic capability. Data is acquired as FCS 3.0 using Cell Quest V.3.3 (BD), and data files are permanently stored on one of the LRI servers. The Flow Core provides the following software, as well as a workstation and training for data analysis: Cell Quest V3.3, FlowJo V6.1.1, ModFit LT V3.0.
