ARC Employee Training

ARC
Employee Handbook
All ARC employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional
manner and conform with the policies and procedures outlined in
the ARC Employee Handbook. Each employee receives individualized
training in acceptable conduct and work performance.
Employee Orientation Schedule
Each new employee in the Animal Resource Center begins training
on the day they begin work. Employees work through as series of
orientation modules depending on their assigned duties. Employees
only care for animals after they are properly trained.
Monthly
Training Seminars
Employees attend a 30 minute training seminar every month. A variety
of topics ranging from customer care to room sanitation are covered.
SOP Small Group Training
Training
Standard Operating Procedures are maintained in each animal room.
Small groups of employees receive weekly SOP training from the Veterinary,
Managerial and Administrative staff. Once every species and task specific training requirement has been completed, employees receive a certificate of completion.
Qualifications
Document
Employee training is documented in an individual qualifications
document that is initiated at the start of employment. All training
activities are listed in this document.
In
Service Training
Two In-Service Training days are scheduled annually. The In Service
day gives employees an extended training session covering a variety
of topics. Safety training and species specific issues are addressed during our In Service training.
