The School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University has just completed an $18M renovation of the Health Sciences Animal Facility to serve as a resource for the campus research effort. The 77,000 sq. ft. renovation, completed over a three year period, provides additonal housing and research space for School of Medicine faculty. Site Visit Success!
The Association for the Assessment and Accrediation of Laborary Animal Care International (AAALAC) recently conducted a site visit with very favorable results. Our facilities and program for animal care were evaluated with only a few suggestions for improvement. We appreciate the efforts of all investigative staff in concluding a very successful site vist.

Right Everytime

Clips like these will begin showing up in animal rooms in the coming weeks. These clips will be used to help ARC technicians improve accuracy in getting every cage back into the same slot every time a cage is pulled out of a rack. We work hard to emphasize the importance of getting cages back where they belong.

Retraining Progressing

The ARC has recently revamped the microisolator technique training module and is in the process of retraining ARC staff and increasing scrutiny of technique by investigative staff. Microisolator technique is the cornerstone of disease prevention in colonies. Strict adherence to microisolator technique protects animals and promotes reliable repeatable research.
