OUR PROGRAMS

The Office of Multicultural Programs (OMP) was created in 1971 to consolidate the school's effort to expand opportunities in medicine for underrepresented minorities. More specifically, the OMP works with the Admissions Office to recruit minority students and to provide academic, social, emotional, and financial support. One of the ways we do this is by matching entering students with minority physicians who serve as mentors. The OMP sponsors a number of special activities throughout the year, including a monthly research luncheon, special dinners, and an annual Accepted Applicants Weekend where accepted applicants are invited to return to campus for a closer look at the school, their future classmates, and some of Cleveland's cultural offerings.
The OMP offers a summer program that may be of interest to students who are considering a career in medicine, dentistry and research.
