The School of Medicine is pleased to announce a successful year in philanthropy for FY2012. Thanks to generous friends, we achieved a 31 percent increase in funds raised over last year. We are grateful to our many supporters and students and faculty whose incredible efforts inspired the outpouring.
FY12 philanthropy highlights include:
- Friends committed $42.7 million to the school in FY12, up from $32.4 million in FY11.
- The School of Medicine has raised $240.8 million of our $350 million Forward Thinking campaign goal.
- 1,807 donors to the Medical Annual Fund contributed more than $2.18 million in FY12, an increase of $380,000 over the previous year.
- $20.1 million was raised for research last year.
- Eight new scholarships funds were created in FY12 for medical students.
These gifts will touch countless individuals through the hands of future physicians and scientists, research on the brink of novel discoveries, and community initiatives that improve health locally, and globally.
