Non-invasive imaging and cerebral amyloid beta deposition in Alzheimer's disease

Deposition of the amyloid beta protein in vessel walls in the brain and in neuritic plaques is one of the cardinal features of Alzheimer's disease. There is no mechanism at present to identify the presence of amyloid ß protein deposition in living patients. In this work we are investigating labeled serum amyloid P component and related compounds in animal and later human applications.
