This 10 year project
(1991-2002) is a case-control study of the risk and
protective factors for Alzheimer's disease. We
currently have 466 controls and 255 Alzheimer's
disease. Disease associated factors we are studying
include: education, apolipoprotein E genotype,
activities
throughout the adult years, diet, smoking exposure,
occupation, family history, estrogen replacement
therapy and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory intake
and the interactions of the above factors.
