Dual degree programs

CWRU School of Medicine and Health offers opportunities for M.D./M.S., M.D./M.A., and M.D./M.P.H. degrees and encourages interested students to apply. Application is usually made early in the first months of medical school.

M.D./M.A. in Bioethics

This 4-year program provides advanced training in bioethics and emphasizes the interdisciplinary and interprofessional nature of the field. Medical students participate in and contribute to the critical analysis of moral issues related to health, health care, and health policy at local, national and international levels. M.D./M.P.H.

This 5-year program prepares students to address the broad mission of public health, to work toward improving the health of human populations. An M.P.H. degree provides education in public health basics, including biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health policy and social and behavioral sciences. Concentration tracks include international health, epidemiology, health care policy and management, health promotion and disease prevention, adolescent health, public health and clinical research, and urban health. M.D./M.S. in Anatomy

This 4-year program provides medical students with advanced training in the anatomical sciences. Required graduate courses include the anatomical sciences core curriculum and advanced surgical anatomy courses. The website is here. M.D./M.S. in Biomedical Engineering

This program prepares medical graduates to be leaders in the development and clinical deployment of new technologies critical in the diagnosis and therapies of disease and to partner with others in technology based translational research teams. M.D./M.S. in Biomedical Investigation

This 5-year program for students interested in careers in basic or clinical research at academic medical centers. Tracks include biochemistry, clinical investigation, epidemiology, health services research, nutrition, pathology, and physiology and biotechnology.
