INFECTIOUS DISEASES CLINICAL PROGRAMS |
|
The Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Case Medical Center and the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center has robust clinical programs focusing on consultative services for infectious diseases (ID) problems encountered at our healthcare institutions, inpatient care for HIV-infected persons and for other ID diagnoses as well as outpatient clinics to see patients with general ID problems, issues related to travelers’ health, hepatitis C, transplant-associated infections and HIV/AIDS. We have successfully staffed University Hospitals (UH) wholly-owned hospitals with ID physicians who are part of the Division and Department of Medicine. ID faculty have performed at the > 90% MGMA benchmark over the past 5 years and have consistently outperformed ID groups at other notable academic medical centers. ID faculty are also involved in infection control, pharmacy and medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship throughout UH.
