Threats to the Health of the Public
All events will take place in the Wolstein Research Building Auditorium, 2103 Cornell Road
To examine and create dialogue around issues pertaining to health policy, the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University has developed the Case Health Policy Forum. Each academic semester, the Forum will examine a key facet of health care policy, with the goal of educating the public and the medical profession, raising awareness of critical issues in health policy facing our community and the nation, and working creatively to formulate solutions for those issues.
The Spring 2006 series in the Case Health Policy Forum will focus on the threats of disease to the health of the public. The School of Medicine will hold seminars with leading experts in the field, including Dr. James Gavin III, Clinical Professor of Medicine and Senior Advisor on Health Affairs at Emory University School of Medicine (on March 27) and Dr. Michael Osterholm, Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy; Associate Director of the Department of Homeland Security's National Center for Food Protection and Defense; and a Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health (on April 19).
All events will be free and open to the public, but space for each will be limited to 200 participants.
