Minority Supplement to NIH Research Grants

As part of an NIH-wide program, principal investigators holding NIH research grants may request supplemental funds to improve diversity of the research workforce. These monies can support your minority summer research student, among others. In general, the parent grant usually has 2 years or more remaining at the time of the supplemental award.

The description of the supplemental award and application instructions are found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-05-015.html

The necessary information to complete the supplementary proposal is included on the summer student application and your NIH grant. Please submit the proposal to the NIH 6-8 weeks before the student is expected to arrive.
