Biannually: November for appointment in January; April for appointment in July.

Endowed professorship appointments

Deputy Provost

Submit by due date for any trustee meeting*

Promotion to associate professor or professor and/or tenure award

Submit first business day of December for promotion/tenure effective the following July 1

Promotion to assistant professor or senior instructor

Deputy Provost

Submit mid-April for promotion effective July 1; mid-October for promotion effective January 1**

Sabbaticals or leaves of absence

Deputy Provost

Submit at any time (in accord with school policies)

Appointments of department chairs


Submit at any time

Pretenure extension for parenting - notification

Deputy Provost

Submit notification within one year after each birth or adoption

Pretenure extensions for reasons other than parenting - recommendation for approval

Submit at any time congruent with the request and constituent faculty policies; before the beginning of the final year of the pretenure period

Pretenure reviews -
third pretenure year and sixth pretenure year (if pretenure period is nine years)
