The Faculty Affairs office assists the departments to manage the faculty appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes. We administer the department chair's annual review of their department's faculty. Faculty Affairs staffs the Faculty Council, supports its committees, and conducts faculty elections. We counsel individual faculty and chairs on CWRU and SOM policies and procedures, maintain the faculty database, and work with the SOM Finance Office and University Records to process faculty (and staff) CWRU payroll entries and changes.
The School of Medicine's HR office works directly with SOM staff, faculty, department chairs, and administrators on a broad range of Human Resources matters, serving as liaison to the University's central HR office. We assist with the process for new staff hires, help manage annual appointments, work with departments to set staff salaries, and are on the front lines of employee relations matters. We manage appointments, reappointments, and annual evaluations for Research Associates and Senior Research Associates. The HR office serves as the clearinghouse for visa applications for SOM faculty and staff.
