Asthma Misconceptions

Asthma is very misunderstood according to the American Lung Association.

Most patients think it is easy to control, but actually find asthma is controlling them.

Misunderstanding the disease and its treatment are the biggest problem.

Half of the patients believe they only have to take medicine to relieve symptoms.

The truth is they must take medicine regularly so as to prevent attacks as well as to treat attacks.

There are great new medicines available, but they must be taken exactly as the doctor orders.

I'm Medical Editor, Dr. Ted Castele, with the Medical Moment.
