Oil of Wormwood

A report in the New England Journal of Medicine describes a very sick 31 year old man who treated himself with an alternative, or non-standard, medicine.

He ordered "Oil of Wormwood" from an advertiser on the internet.

After drinking it he became agitated, incoherent, disoriented, and had convulsions.

The patient had gone into acute kidney failure.

Luckily he recovered after a few weeks treatment.

If you use anything other than standard therapy, be sure to discuss it with your doctor first.
