Alternative Therapies

According to one of the authors of a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, patients are increasingly seeking a physician who is not only solidly based in the Science of Medicine, but who also is knowledgeable about alternative medicine.

This study reports almost two-thirds of medical schools in this country are teaching courses in alternative therapies including acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal therapy and homeopathy.

The authors advise the students to actually experience some of these treatments so they know first hand what they're like.

They also advise that these studies must be approached from a scientific perspective.
