Advances are being made in genetics which are helping find risk factors for disease.
Doctors can now identify genes associated with Breast Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Polycystic Kidney, and diseases of the Immune System.
Treatment for these diseases with gene therapy is still a long way off.
In this week's issue of the JAMA, we are cautioned not to expect cures overnight.
The expectations are great, but we must be patient and await successful therapy.
