Michelle Mark

Michelle Mark is a second year medical student who graduated from the University of Washington. She has trained in jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance styles and recently adventured into the world of Latin dances. Michelle is excited to help organize Doc Opera and make it an enjoyable experience for performers and audience alike!

Alexandra Lawler

Alexandra (Alex) Lawler is a second year MD student at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She grew up in rural Ohio and attended the Ohio State University where she majored in biology, minored in human nutrition, and played on the fastpitch club softball team to fill her free time.  She began singing in the church choir at a young age and has continued to sing throughout her life. While she competed in several singing competitions in past years, she prefers to sing for her own enjoyment.  Alex is excited to be a part of the Doc Opera 2016 crew and would like to make sure this year's show is one to remember!

  Band Directors  
Aaron Talsma graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. At the university he played french horn in the student run Michigan Pops Orchestra. After graduating he spent a year in Vienna on a Fulbright scholarship before coming to Case for the MSTP. He is excited for the opportunity to play and direct music with the Doc Opera Band.

Austin Le comes from Seattle, Washington, and went to University of Washington for college. He played violin in high school and is excited about directing Doc Opera band this year. Austin enjoys climbing, video games, skiing, hiking, musicals, and playing with cute animals.

Lu (Angela) Dai

Lu (Angela) Dai is a fourth year M.D. student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She attended University of Toronto for her undergraduate and master's degree in physiology. She began dancing 10 years ago and competed in multiple freestyle dance competitions. She is super excited to be a director for Doc Opera 2016!

Erica Magelky

Erica Magelky is a fourth year MD/MA in Bioethics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Born and raised in Houston, she attended Boston University where she majored in Classical Studies and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Oh, and she also joined a theatre group on a whim. She then worked in research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for three years, while also serving as board member and production manager for Vagabond Theatre Group. She is thrilled to continue squeezing theatre into her life and to be a director for Doc Opera 2016!

Adrian Gomez-Nguyen An Ohio native, Adrian was born in Cleveland but moved to Columbus at an early age. He started playing instruments in middle school with the clarinet and saxophone. He continued playing through high school and participated in the marching band. Adrian went to the University of Chicago for undergrad where he majored in Biology. After undergrad he spent a year working in the ED at The Ohio State University. In his free time, Adrian spends most of his day re-watching Scrubs on Netflix.
