Dr. Hijaz

| Dr. Hijaz's research focuses on urodynamics utility and impact on
clinical decision making in female pelvic floor disorders. The basic science
research has focused on the creating an animal model of the sling procedure to
study its mode of action in continence and its effect on the bladder and
sphincter. Another interest is to study the cytokine expression with vaginal
distention models of stress urinary incontinence and their role in recruiting
bone marrow stem cells to the urethral sphincter and functional recovery of
incontinence. |
