Welcome to the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Urology Residency Program. Our program is located within the UH Urology Institute, adjacent to the CWRU campus in the heart of University Circle. The UH Urology Institute is the primary affiliate of the CWRU School of Medicine.

Our urology residency program is based on a strong foundation of both resident and medical student education. Since 1939, our program has trained urology residents for successful careers as both leaders in academic and private practice urology. UH Urology Institute faculty are committed to providing each graduate of our program with the fundamental skills necessary to begin their urologic career, and the tools necessary for continued growth and contribution to patients and our field throughout their entire careers.

In the following pages, you will find specific information on our 1+4 with an additional non-accredited research year for a total educational time of 6 years program structure, educational curriculum, medical student education curriculum, fellowship opportunities, current and past graduates, current faculty, and research and clinical activities. Upon completion of training, our graduates have been aggressively recruited by competitive private practice groups and academia, or matriculated into the some of the most competitive fellowships available. A number of our graduates serve as chairmen in departments of urology.

I would personally like to invite you to visit our program and our stellar group of residents, faculty and staff. You will find our program to be a place where you can achieve your goals as an urologist. The residents, faculty and I look forward to meeting you.

Warm Regards,

Edward E. Cherullo, MD
