Trainees in our urology residency program are expected to attend the following conferences offered by University Hospitals Urology Institute.
Every resident is assigned a chapter from Campbell-Walsh Textbook of Urology on a weekly, rolling basis. During their assigned week, residents will be responsible for teaching the material through questions to their fellow residents during an hour-long session that actively discusses and maximizes comprehension of the material.
Grand rounds are performed weekly by an attending, resident or visiting professor. We also use this time for resident AUA update presentations and in-service review.
For our monthly case conference, our residents present interesting cases to other residents in an oral board-style format. Presentations should include films, endoscopy or intra-operative images.
Residents, faculty members and practicing urologists from the community meet the second Monday of each month to discuss faculty-selected articles on a particular topic.
Complications from each site are presented from the prior month during this monthly conference.
A weekly conference where we review cases, indications and plan for upcoming cases for the week.
