Welcome to the Department
of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University. The
Department of Neurology is integrated into the
Neurological Institute at University Hospitals Case
The Case Department of Neurology includes approximately
60 full-time faculty
based at six sites in Cleveland: University Hospitals -
Case Medical Center, Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs
Medical Center, Ahuja Medical Center, Richmond Medical
Center, Bedford Medical Center, St. John's Medical
Center and Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.
Clinical consultations and laboratory services are also available
in the surrounding community at the University Suburban
Health Center in South Euclid, the Chagrin Highlands
Health Center in Orange, the Westlake Health
Center in Westlake, Ohio, and the Park East Medical Building in Beachwood.
Clinical areas of expertise include cerebrovascular
disorders, critical care neurology, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, autonomic disorders, myasthenia gravis, neuro-oncology, sleep, neuro-ophthalmology, and memory and aging disorders. Laboratory services include electroencephalopathy (EEG), video-EEG monitoring, nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG), neuromuscular ultrasound, single-fiber EMG, and autonomic testing.
The Department is also dedicated to teaching and
research. We have a large neurology residency training
program and offer several subspecialty fellowships. Most
of our faculty are actively involved with either
clinical and/or basic science research.
New: The Case Brain Health
Collaborative in collaboration with University Hospitals
Neurological Institute, Case Western Reserve University,
and Neurological Institute at University Hospitals
recently presented a Medical Symposium on memory loss
entitled “From Neurodegeneration to Brain Health: An
Integrated Approach." This symposium brought together
the most distinguished brain scientists who explored the
current biological, psychosocial and ecological aspects
of memory loss disorders. Many of the presentations are
