Kurt Lu, M.D., joined Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in 2008. Dr. Lu’s training began at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. After a pre-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester in Immunology/Dermatology he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Lu then acquired a post-doctoral fellowship in Cellular and Molecular Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University prior to acceptance into the Dermatology Residency at Case Western Reserve and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Lu provides care across the full spectrum of general dermatology. General dermatology involves the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails; including, acne, rashes, allergies, and skin cancer as well as treatment and removal of tumors, warts, moles, cysts, skin tags, and other skin growths. He is a recipient of a Skin Disease Research Center pilot and feasibility award supporting investigation of the role of macrophages in wound healing and oxidative stress. This has enabled Dr. Lu to identify collaborators and facilitate connection to other investigators with common research interests.
