Research & Scholarship: Research Block

Research Block ((year 3 to year 4)

Students are required to perform 4 months of research during their 3rd or 4th years. Students pursue a mentored research project in basic science, clinical research, translational research, quality improvement studies, or medical education research. The research may be performed locally, nationally, or internationally. The student submits their research proposal, 2 progress reports and an MD Thesis to fulfill the research and scholarship requirements. The MD Thesis is reviewed by faculty members. The research from their research block is eligible to be presented at the yearly Lepow Medical Student Research Day.
