 Rationale:

SCTL scholars work together to develop curriculum projects for our School and community.  You need to know where you are headed in order to develop instructional strategies that will get you and your learners to the learning destination you are seeking.  You need to know where you are headed in order to evaluate whether or not you got where you wanted your learners to go.  The sequence begins with identifying project goals and learning objectives for the participants.  It ends with instructional alignment.

 Objectives:

By the end of the session, each scholar will:

  1. Define the term “learning objectives”
  2. Differentiate between project goals and learning objectives for participants
  3. Identify reasons for stating learning objectives
  4. List qualities of useful learning objectives
  5. Describe common pitfalls of writing learning objectives
