“THE PROBLEM WITH THE PROBLEM OF PROFESSIONALISM” Tentative time: 8am-3pm Guest Speaker: Catherine R. Lucey, MD FACP
Interim Dean Vice Dean for Education, College of Medicine Associate VP for Health Sciences, Education Office of Health Sciences, The Ohio State University		Dr. Lucey is interim Dean, College of Medicine, Vice Dean for Education at the Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine and Associate Vice President for Health Sciences Education for the OSU Office of Health Sciences. In this role, she oversees undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuing medical education as well as the schools of allied health and biomedical sciences.  She directs the Office for Geriatrics and Gerontology, and the OSU Area Health Education Consortium.  She has been a Director of the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2005 and is currently the Chair Elect of this organization. Previously, Dr. Lucey was a Clinical Instructor at Harvard University School of Medicine, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, before joining Ohio State as Associate Professor of Medicine in 2002. She was promoted to Professor of Internal Medicine in 2005.  She has won numerous teaching awards and has given over 100 invited presentations at academic institutions across the country as well as at national meetings.  Her areas of expertise include professionalism and curriculum development.  Dr. Lucey has served as Vice Chair of Education and Director of the Residency Program in the OSU Department of Internal Medicine since 2002. Her leadership was instrumental in the acceptance of the OSU Internal Medicine residency program into the inaugural cohort of Educational Innovations Project sites by the Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Lucey is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is a prior council member for the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lucey earned her medical degree from the Northwestern University School of Medicine and she completed her residency in internal medicine, including service as chief resident, at San Francisco General Hospital, University of California, San Francisco.
