ADVANCED CLINICAL & SCIENTIFIC STUDIES


  1. Advanced Clinical and Scientific Studies:

    In the final year of study, students engage In three activities: 1) in-depth clinical preparation for internship through the selection of sub-internships; 2) in-depth scholarship through selection of areas of concentration that integrate clinical and basic science within a defined area of study; and 3) broad opportunities for further clinical and research electives. An area of concentration encompasses three to four months of study, including advanced clinical experiences and in depth study through seminars in medicine and health.

 Internal Medicine and Surgery
Basic Science Integration
(16 weeks at one of 3 teaching sites - UH/VA, MetroHealth, Cleveland Clinic)


BASIC CORE II
Pediatrics, Women’s Health (OB/GYN), Family Medicine
Basic Science Integration
(16 weeks at one of 3 teaching sites – UH/VA, MetroHealth, Cleveland Clinic)


BASIC CORE III
Neuroscience and Psychiatry
Basic Science Integration
(8 weeks at one of 3 teaching sites – UH/VA, MetroHealth, Cleveland Clinic)


ADVANCED CORES
Undifferentiated Care,
Aging and Society
(Each four weeks, flexible scheduling, all sites)
