Introduction
Advanced Seminars is a clinical learning group course that is a required component of Year III. Meetings will be held on the Fridays (see below) from 3:00-5:00 .
The purpose of this program is two-fold. First and foremost, it was created to address the need for third year students to have a constant group of peers with whom to discuss and digest the process of making the transition from being pre-clinical to being a clerkship student. Throughout the seminar experience, each student will have the opportunity to develop a relationship with one or two faculty members over time. Secondly, the program will use students’ own experiences on their clerkships to explore topics in communication, ethics, and professionalism that are not systematically addressed elsewhere in the third year.
