translational methodologies
The Translational Methodological Research (TMR) core works collaboratively to develop methods to circumvent well recognized barriers in clinical and translational research. The TMR has developed novel approaches to circumvent bottlenecks in the discovery pathway, from new knowledge derived from the laboratory through to the community. The expertise of TMR members includes statistical modeling, medical imaging, health outcomes research, informatics, business administration, statistical genetics, and genomics. TMR members represent all the participating Cleveland CTSA institutions. This multidisciplinary group began working together prior to the initiation of the CTSA, collaboratively defining the developmental steps in the lifecycle of discovery, and identifying methodologies and solutions. The group has committed to work together as a multidisciplinary team to enrich each other's research, to create academic programs to inform our investigator community about research methodologies, and to reinforce the value of new methods to accelerate the application of discoveries to improve human health.
Leadership
- Micheal Kattan, PhD, Co-Director
- Sunil Rao, PhD, Co-Director
Mission
- To make advanced methodologies from the TMR accessible to clinical and translational investigators throughout the CCI and the CTSA
- To assist investigators in applying these advanced methodologies for specific research projects
- To collaborate among TMR members, and with investigators in collaboration with the pilot grants program to develop new methodologies to advance clinical and translational science
How we support Investigators
- Provide a streamlined approach to solve methodological problems
- Provide infrastructure for future studies e.g.,
- Prediction model platform
- Automated software for mining large genomic databases
- Statistical tools to analyze large functional neuroscience data
- Provide a pool of funds to accommodate meritorious requests
- Produce application and methodology publications
How to Contact Us
- Check "General Request" box in the Translational Methodologies Research section of the CTSC Request Management System (https://casemed.case.edu/ctsc_rms/)
