CTSC Training, Education, and Career Development Core
A core group of scientists and administrators is implementing locally a key component and a strategic goal of the national clinical and translational research initiative as administered by the National CTSA-education, training and career development to prepare a multidisciplinary group of clinical research scholars to be future leaders of the nation's clinical research enterprise.
This Core Resource is focused on three levels of education including graduate-degree-granting and post graduate programs in clinical and translational science. They provide:
- Intensive training and mentoring to develop junior faculty members as clinical researchers conducting patient-oriented research. Currently 21 faculty members who are physicians, dentists, and PhD scientists in nursing, engineering, and other relevant disciplines, are in this program at all four CTSC partner institutions. - A Clinical and Translational Scientist Training Program (CTSTP) through which researchers obtaining the Medical Doctorate, Doctorate in Dental Sciences or Doctorate in Nursing at Case can enter a combined program leading to the Ph.D. degree in engineering, epidemiology, biostatistics, and ultimately in clinical research as well. - Education and training for the entire clinical and translational research team to better understand each other's disciplines, terminology, and approach to research or patients by developing, implementing, and coordinating multidisciplinary clinical and translational research education across partner institutions. Program topics now include regulatory issues, statistics and design, and design. Please visit [a to be developed section of the website] to learn about current, relevant educational opportunities across Partner Institutions.
